taught several FrameMaker classes to their technical
writing group and also helped them redesign several
FrameMaker document templates to be easier to use and
more maintainable.

General
Magic, Inc. was the Producer of MagicCap operating
system for remote computing. General Magic provided
voice applications that enabled people to interact with
information, the Internet, and telecommunications technology
by speaking in a natural voice. General Magic's "magicTalk
communications platform" created a natural conversation
between people and technology. This platform enabled
General Magic to build mass-market voice applications
for corporate customers as well as host voice applications
in their network operations center.
General Magic,
in partnership with the OnStar division of General Motors,
was building the voice application behind the Virtual
Advisor, which provided hands-free voice-activated access
to Web-based information services in vehicles. A voice
application service provider offering services and products
that enabled people to interact with information and
integrate their communications, all by speaking in a
natural voice.
Expert Support
worked with the General Magic architecture team to write
the Design Specification for the Virtual Advisor. Expert
Support also provided a senior architectural architect
to write a architectural guide for the magicTalk product.
Later, Expert Support technical writers wrote the Voice
Gateway Functional Description and Installation Manual.
In our last project with General Magic we updated the
Programmer's Guide and Talklet's Reference for V2.0.

provides interaction management solutions for the enterprise
contact center, e-businesses, and service providers.
Their telecommunications architecture enables their
solutions to be interoperable with multiple switches,
platforms, databases, and third-party interaction management
applications.
Expert Support
wrote marketing white papers for their High Availability
capability, and for the architecture framework.

is a leading provider of handheld computer products designed
to provide easy access to the Web and allow users to organize,
manage, and communicate better.
At Handspring,
Expert Support completed a set of HTML helps and companion
user guide for Handspring's Tracker. This is a bug-tracking
system based on software from Mozilla Organization.
We wrote an HTML guide for Handspring's localization
framework and editor tools. This guide describes Handspring's
internal process for developing and localizing device
applications, and consolidates information on appropriate
tools. This document is for internal application developers
and external localizers.

is a leading provider of computer workstations, servers,
and scientific instruments.
For over 10 years, Expert Support has provided HP with a
number of different services. We have primarily been
involved with HP's training organization and have provided
both technical writing and training development services
for a large variety of products.
Highlights
of this work include a "train-the-trainers"
program for HP-UX system administrators, and document
work associated with the "Self-maintainer"
CD program. Most recently, we have been writing white
papers about recent developments in supply-chain management
and processes.

worldwide, including storage systems, and comprehensive

@Home
Networks offered exclusive broadband programming
from Excite and constant, unlimited access to the Internet.
Expert Support
worked with the IT group to establish a standard repository
for documents and standard templates, so that IT could
control the source of the documents, and give users
access from the @Home intranet. After this project,
Expert Support wrote the Operator's manual for the next
generation of IT systems for use by @Home system administration
staff.

Software) is a leader in the development of enterprise
software solutions that provide access to all business-critical
information and resources.
After purchase of NoHands
solutions and their Common Ground product, Expert Support
updated the Common Ground documentation set to reflect
the newest version of the application, ported the documents
to be in the Hummingbird document templates, and then
handed future maintenance of the manuals over to the
Hummingbird staff.

teams to find and fix a wide range of C and C++ run-time

cases, without modifying the code, and without changing
how developers work.
Expert Support
wrote the technical white paper describing how PREfix
worked and provided technical writing assistance to
the product documentation team. Expert Support provided
a variety of technical staff to both Intrinsa and Intrinsa's
customers. For Intrinsa's own engineering team we provided
a QA manager and a UI designer. For Intrinsa's largest
customer, Cisco, we provided a configuration specialist,
a project manager, and a program manager
