Senior Technical Writer
Karen has worked in the software field since 1982. Karen's recent projects include:
- Product documentation and internal procedures documentation for CyberSource Corporation (FrameMaker, WebWorks Publisher, RoboHELP)
- Installation and Configuration Guide and on-line help for Web-based network monitoring software (FrameMaker, WebWorks Publisher)
- Hard copy product documentation, and on-line help for Trilogy Corporation (Microsoft Word, RoboHELP)
- Project management of a documentation suite including hard copy and on-line documentation for Trilogy Corporation
At Talarian Corporation, Karen managed the entire documentation process for seven manuals (approximately 2,000 pages) required to document RTworks, a real-time software development system written in C for UNIX. She transformed the documentation process to a smooth-running, on-time, on-budget team effort. She also produced the company's first style guide.
Karen has written a wide variety of documentation, including on-line text explaining the anatomy and physiology of the human body; programming language reference manuals; accounting procedure manuals; accounting software tutorials; on-line documentation for end-user software; and a corporate brochure.
As a Knowledge Engineer, Karen built a fully functional demonstration knowledge system to specs and wrote its documentation. This system later became GMAC's celebrated Analyst system.
