The MKD/US Dollar exchange rate is influenced by inflation, interest rates, and overall economic growth in North Macedonia. The Macedonian denar (MKD) is also affected by trade balances, foreign investment, and remittances from citizens working abroad. Since North Macedonia has strong economic ties with the eurozone, movements in the euro significantly impact the MKD exchange rate. In addition, central bank policies, political stability, and global market conditions all contribute to fluctuations in the currency’s value over time.

The US Dollar (USD) is strong because it is the world's primary reserve currency and the most widely used currency in global trade and finance. High global demand for USD-denominated assets, especially US Treasury bonds, continuously supports its value. Its strength is also reinforced by deep financial markets, global trust in US institutions, and safe-haven demand during economic crises.
