The SEK/US Dollar exchange rate is heavily influenced by the Riksbank’s monetary policy and interest rate decisions alongside domestic inflation. As a highly export-dependent economy closely tied to the European Union, Sweden’s currency is deeply affected by global trade demand and Eurozone economic health. Additionally, the Swedish krona (SEK) is traditionally viewed as a risk-sensitive currency, meaning it fluctuates significantly with shifts in global market sentiment. Movements in major global currencies, particularly the euro and US dollar, also play a key role.

The US Dollar (USD) is strong because it is the world's primary reserve currency and the most widely used currency in global trade and finance. High global demand for USD-denominated assets, especially US Treasury bonds, continuously supports its value. Its strength is also reinforced by deep financial markets, global trust in US institutions, and safe-haven demand during economic crises.

The Swiss Franc (CHF) is considered very stable thanks to Switzerland's low inflation, strong banking system, and cautious monetary policy. The Singapore Dollar (SGD) is also stable, managed through a currency basket by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Both tend to hold their value well during global uncertainty and market volatility.

The Swedish Krona (SEK) was introduced in 1873 under the gold-backed Scandinavian Monetary Union. Managed by the world’s oldest central bank, it transitioned through various foreign currency pegs after the union dissolved. Following a severe economic crisis in 1992, Sweden adopted a free-floating exchange rate. Voters later rejected the Euro in 2003, keeping the krona independent.
