What Is Margin Call And Stop-Out?

A margin call occurs when account equity drops below the minimum level required to maintain open positions. It serves as an alert to add funds or reduce exposure.

A stop-out occurs when the margin level falls below the required maintenance level, causing the broker to automatically close one or more positions to restore margin compliance.
